A short film by award-winning writer & director Dustin Weible.

Based on the popular knifepoint horror podcast by Soren Narnia.

Project Overview

“Vision” is a detective noir thriller based on a short story by Soren Narnia of the popular Knifepoint Horror Podcast. The show is hosted by SpectreVision Radio, founded by Elijah Wood.

The short film is spearheaded by award-winning and festival-proven writer and director Dustin Weible, and it will be produced in Greenville, SC, using predominantly local cast, crew and services.

Production is set to begin Spring 2026.

❋ Local Impact

The goal of this project is to raise broader attention to the Upstate South Carolina film industry in the wake of new, competitive State Film Incentives to bring outside productions here, creating more film-centric jobs and boosting the local economy.

A stronger local film industry presence boosts the economy by injecting millions into local businesses, creating high-paying jobs, and fostering long-term tourism. By creating in-state, high-profile film projects, without relying on out-of-state producers, we can build our own filmmaking foundation, allowing for longevity and continuous state benefits, established by our friends, neighbors, local businesses and communities.

This is more than a film, it’s a platform for student engagement, education, and workforce development.

❋ Educational Impact

Educational resources for South Carolina film and media students are scarce. Many institutions who offer these curriculums simply don’t get the funding they need to properly supply their students with the right equipment or on-set experience needed for real-world productions. This leads to the majority of our homegrown artists leaving the state to find better educational and experiential opportunities.

We are committed to operating Vision as a “teaching set” for South Carolina Digital Media and Film students. Also, as an adaptation of Soren Narnia’s Knifepoint Horror podcast, all versions of the story must be released under Creative Commons attribution. As a result, the finished film and select production assets will be fully rights-cleared for academic use. This provides Media Arts programs with professionally produced material to use for instruction in editing, sound design, and post-production workflows without additional licensing or copyright barriers.

A man struggling to make sense of a strange medical phenomenon, leaving a gap in his memory, meets someone claiming to have an answer...

...one too frightening for the minds of man to grasp.

An ode to the stories of Lovecraft by way of a neo-noir thriller, vision blends the mundane with the unimaginable, telling a detective story where the biggest question is what lies in empty spaces - in our minds, in our hearts, and over the horizon.
